TrusTECH introduces stem cell company to NW NHS organisation.

BioEden, an international biotech business specialising in stem cell research, needed a different way to conduct its tests. TrusTECH connected the company to laboratories in Central Manchester, enabling it to apply different methodologies. In addition, TrusTECH provided them with contacts in the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) which enabled BioEden to change their business model.

Dr Michael Buist, an intensive care consultant in Australia, became very concerned about preventable deaths, injuries and complications among patients already in the care of hospitals. He determined to find out what could be done to reduce the incidence and impact of these adverse events. TrusTECH goes intergalactic to help NHS patients

A spin-out company from the UK’s Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC), Microvisk, has developed the world’s first medical diagnostic strip based on a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) with help from TrusTECH, the Northwest’s NHS Innovation Hub. The technology was originally created as a movement system for nano-robots on space probes by the STFC for planetary exploration. TrusTECH is a joint venture partner in the MedTECH Centre.

A new disinfectant which TrusTECHTM, a joint venture partner in the MedTECH Centre,  tested in an NHS hospital outperforms the existing NHS gold standard - hypochlorite bleach - delivering a 33% improvement on overall surface hygiene including environmental MRSA.
