North West Innovation Network

The North West Innovation Network is an association of all those organisations in the North West of England whose purpose is to support innovation. It is deliberately inclusive, and all operations, actual or under development, which consist of a knowledge-based cluster of SMEs and which offer support for their growth may be members.

The Network operates over the whole NW Region, from Ellesmere Port and Runcorn in the South to Westlakes in Cumbria in the North.

As its name implies, its present principal objective is networking: with each other, the NWDA, GO-NW, UKSPA and many other relevant bodies. It shares information, experience and best practice, and monitors activities within the region. It also collects statistics on its member parks, in order to track growth.

We have been inviting companies from throughout the UK and beyond to put forward better, more cost-effective approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Entries closed in April 2011 and the winners have now been selected. The winning products and systems will be evaluated in healthcare settings within the North West in the coming months. Further details of the evaluations will be announced at a later date.

You can follow the progress of the programme - or find out about any new initiatives - through the news stories on the Smart Solutions for HC website, or you can subscribe to receive updates from the same website.
